Here is the Peruvian Wild Tomato Type 1, Lycopersicon peruvianum, Solanum peruvianum, new for 2023. This wild tomato from central Peru to northern Chile is a very rare tomato type to come across! It is Indeterminate, semi regular leaf, perennial and produces 1/2" sized, pale green and one stripe on bottom, with some purple shoulders. The tomatoes have a smooth pale skin and can be heavy producing variety. We found this variety to be resistant to most diseases. The fruits are edible but may contain some alkaloids when unripe.
