Here is the Small Sugar Pumpkin, Cucurbita pepo is a pumpkin that is used to make pumpkin pie and for canning! It has been in cultivation since 1863 in north america. It is a sweet pumpkin and the seeds are great for roasting while the rind can be made into pies, muffins or soups. This variety can produce pumpkins fairly quickly an can make 5 pumpkins per vine averaging from 5 to 7 inches round and orange. Plants can get to 12 feet long and best grown along the ground. We just cut them in half, put them in the oven for 25 minutes then scoop out the inside with a spoon and make pumpkin pie! They can get to 3 Lbs in weight Open pollinated 90 days.
