Capsicum exile
Here is the Cobincho Pepper, Capsicum exile, Scoville units: 8,000 ~ 15,000 SHU. The pepper species originates from the mountains of Bolivia. It is a perennial member of the genus Capsicum and is a sub species of Capsicum chacoense. They have a SHU of about 15,000 and can be quite hot! The pods are about 3/8 inches long with a blunt nose unlike the pequin pepper. Plants can get to 6 feet tall and very leggy with small leaves. This is NOT a beginners pepper. Seed starts are sporadic an difficult to start. Seeds can take as long as 2 months to sprout! Open pollinated 120+ days.
