Capsicum chinense

Capsicum chinense was named so as chinense means "from China" which is not correct as they originated from the Amazon. This species includes some of the world's hottest peppers. Peppers in this species come in a wide variety of colors, and often have a distinctive fruity tropical flavors. With multiple flowers per node, they typically have an annular constriction where the pedicel meets the fruit, and leaves. Most peppers in this species are extremely hot like the Carolina Reaper.
